My airshow pilot career started when I learned how to control fear at the least levels.   This was due to my experience flying on an MC-130E Combat Talon aircraft just after completing high school.  But, that inspiration came from a very good source….my dad.

Amateurs have no fear

Do you deal with fear…ever?  If you said “no”, then you are either not human or you are dead.  Fear is a really good thing to have, because it will help keep you alive physically and mentally.  I know, because I face it all the time.

Hockey helping kids

I just finished an incredible game of hockey at our Gila River Arena.  The same arena where our very own Phoenix Coyotes play.

This is tha 3rd year that Microsoft and CommVault have hosted this event in Phoenix.  This is also my third year of playing in the event.  Amateur and ex-pro hockey players come together for a hockey game.  Then organizations donate to the Phoenix Coyotes Alumni Charity to help underprivileged kids have the opportunity to play the game.

Knowing your limits

Do You have a good handle on knowing your limits? As an airshow pilot, knowing my limits means the difference between life and death. For example, at an airshow, I need to drink water all day long and as frequently as I can. If I become dehydrated, then my blood pressure will drop. When this happens, then during high “G” maneuvers, my heart can’t fight the 9 times my weight in gravity. Consequently, I will start to grey ...
